Phlebotomist Laboratory Mercy Tiffin Part-Time

Job Summary
Collects specimens from patients and orders tests in the computer. Transports specimens and computer orders to the main laboratory. Assumes responsibility for the safety and comfort of patients, following established standards and practices. Understands and reacts effectively to the unique needs of the neonatal, pediatric, adolescent and/or geriatric patient. Assists with clerical duties of the department. Supports Core Values/Philosophy of the Sisters of Mercy. Respects and maintains confidentiality.
Qualifications - Minimum
Minimum Education ? High School or equivalent.
Phlebotomy training program or equivalent.
Two year Associate Degree in Medical Assisting preferred.
Preferred Experience ? Previous phlebotomy experience; previous experience in the health care field in related work. Computer knowledge.
Skills ? Phlebotomy skills, computer and keyboarding skills, knowledge of laboratory terms, accuracy and attention to detail, and customer service skills.
Hours per pay period: 40
Hours: 2:00pm to 6:00pm
Weekends and holidays required.
Direct patient care phlebotomy serving patients of all ages.
Position requires excellent customer service.
Position includes clerical data entry and review with good computer skills and specimen processing.
Phlebotomist or Medical Assistant with phlebotomy raining/certification.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
